The per capita share of mineral energy of France is very low compared with other developed countries, and proven reserves account for about 0.02% of the world's total reserves. France stopped coal production in 2004, and oil production can only meet 3% of the total domestic energy demand. In order to ensure the safety of domestic energy supply, therefore, France has formulated a series of laws and policies to support the development of renewable energy sources, such as wind energy and solar energy (see table below)
