In 2007, Yingli built a solar energy PV power generation station for Sanfangwu Middle School, Huining, Gansu, which is an old revolutionary base area and has the top scorer in college entrance exam. Since then, children there don’t have to read under the kerosene lamp. Meanwhile, the Internet also helped people there get to know the world outside the mountains. The villagers also sold the local specialty potato to Jiangsu and Zhejiang via e-commerce platform. The poverty alleviation and education improvement has fundamentally put an end to the backwardness of the county.
Sanjiangyuan has been known as “the water tower of China”. In 2012, Yingli built a solar energy photovoltaic power station to meet the power demands of lighting, heating and sewage treatment of environmental protection volunteers and provide power guarantee for rare species such as bar-headed goose and environmental protection. The project has obvious driving effects.
In 2012, Yingli donated a PV power generation application system worth five million to Sansha. The over one hundred sets of power generation system have provided a powerful guarantee for the daily power consumption of the residents on the island. The fishermen on Zhaoshu Island in Sansha all have used green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly solar energy power.
Sansha is a prefecture-level city and also the youngest city in the southernmost part of motherland. Due to geographical constraints, lagging infrastructure construction and shortage of energy, the construction of Sansha is troubled by the problem of power utilization of residents. Yingli donated a PV power generation application system worth five million to Sansha and then established a special company there. This manifested that Yingli has undertaken its responsibility of protecting the maritime rights and interests and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the motherland and it has fulfilled its mission of promoting the infrastructure construction in Sansha.
In 2002, Yingli implemented the national “Brightness Project”. It built 16 photovoltaic power stations, which ended the age without electricity of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan.
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Tibet Autonomous Region in 2005, Yingli donated photovoltaic power supporting viewing equipment to the Tibetan herdsmen on the behalf of the Party Central Committee and The State Council to show the solicitude of the Party Central Committee, which has changed the life concept of the Tibetan people. “The sun on the back of cows” has brought light to the Tibetan herdsmen. At the 60th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet in 2011, Yingli donated both cash and solar energy products worth 10 million Yuan to public cultural undertakings.
