During 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, the Chinese characters of “China Yingli” was brought to the World Cup. It is the first time that the name of a country and Chinese characters were displayed in the ringside advertising of the World Cup. Yingli is also the first Chinese enterprise and renewable energy enterprise which sponsored the World Cup. With the help of professional advantage in renewable energy, Yingli has built 20 football fields with its photovoltaic components for African children in collaboration with Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), which is a part of sponsorship project of FIFA World Cup South Africa. Yingli names it as “Football moves for hope and energy boosts hope”.
In 2010, Yingli built the first “Zero Emission Exhibition Area” of the World Cup in the world. The area uses 8 pieces of Yingli type-N technology products, with an installed capacity of 2.2KW and the sundial of ancient China as its shape. All the power used at the exhibition stands are from solar power generation, which has realized zero emission in the real sense.
Around the World Cup 2014, Yingli provided 390KW solar energy products for Maracana Stadium, provided 1MW solar energy products for Arena Pernambuco, Recife, Stadium of the World Cup 2014, provided 27 sets of PV power generation system for the lighting information towers of all game cities of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, and set 8 to 15 solar energy charging stations for the media center and international media base camp inside 6 stadiums including San Paolo Stadium; it also provided 500KW component products for Riocentro, which is the first and largest photovoltaic parking lot in Brazil. The services that the solar energy products of China Yingli provide have contributed to the success of the “green event” of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
In 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, Yingli realized its goal of carbon neutral the World Cup in cooperation with the third party Climate Partner. By organizing customers to plant trees, it has neutralized 1,222.6 tons carbon emission produced from customers’ participation in the World Cup and become the “green sponsor” of the World Cup.
With the aid of Bayern Munich platform, Yingli held the activity of “family publicity day” once every sports competition season since 2011-2012 sports competition season. On the opening day of the first home game at Allianz Stadium, Yingli promoted new energy and green concept to the fans' families. It held 4 sessions and attracted nearly 60,000 football fans.
In 2014, Yingli installed a set of 29.2 KW of photovoltaic power generation system in Bayern, located in the training center in Säbener Street, Munich, Germany. The annual energy output of the system is 31,000 KW, which is available for the power consumption of the internal training centre, and can reduce 21 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year. Yingli helped European giants to become green base. Yingli facilitated European giants to become a green base.
In 2006, Yingli provided 1MW photovoltaic components for Kaiserslautern Stadium, which has laid a foundation for the green promotion of European countries.
Since 2012, Yingli has installed solar energy system for local deprived communities together with United States Soccer Federation and American installers. It aims to provide more energy to more people in need, provide clean renewable energy for poor communities and schools with inadequate service facilities, raise people's awareness of environmental protection and contribute to the education and community services in poor communities.
