Since 2008, Yingli has participated in the activity of WWF “Earth Hour” in many ways, such as low-carbon cycling and One-Hour Blackout for consecutive 9 years. Nearly 20,000 persons have participated in the activity of Yingli Earth Hour. Turn off non-essential lights and other power-consuming devices between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on the last Saturday of March every year to express concern about climate change.

On March 27, 2015, Yingli declared to donate a set of 30 KW roof distributed power generation system to Capital Normal University in order to support the activity of 2015 WWF “Earth Hour” and promote the popularization of the concept of solar energy application in campus. This roof system comprises 120 pieces of Yingli high-quality modules, which will be at the roof of 7-storey Literature and History Building of North Campus of Capital Normal University. After being built, the system will generate total power of about 125,000 KW, which can provide power for the teaching activities and lighting of the building. During the winter and summer holidays, the project power will be incorporated into State Grid Corporation of China. Within the 25 years of the system’s operation, carbon emission will be expected to decrease by 900 tons.

Since 2015, Yingli has undertaken the Low-carbon Science and Technology Life Exhibition Baoding for consecutive two years. It aims to raise the awareness of low-carbon and environmental protection of citizens, advocate green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly lifestyle, mobilize the staff to fulfill the cycling, saving and sustainable low-carbon urban development, and explore low-emission, low-pollution, low-consumption and ecological economic growth plan.

In order to help the public understand the corporate culture and popularize the PV knowledge, Yingli has held the “public open day” activity directed at the citizens and the family members of employees for many times for consecutive four years since 2014, and received nearly 40,000 visitors. In particular, Yingli Photovoltaic Pavilion has received over 25,800 visitors since its foundation on July 1, 2011, of which Chinese and overseas students account for 7%, customers 42% and common people 51%.

Popularize PV knowledge and promote the concept of environmental protection by letting visitors visit Photovoltaic Pavilion and Technological Innovation Expo, and contribute to promoting the masses to develop a moderate and saving, civilized and healthy, and zero-carbon lifestyle and consumption pattern.

The company fully implements the E-office such as paperless office and OA\SAP, which has saved lots of office resources. First of all, paperless office can save a lot of paper; secondly, it can reduce the purchase of paper-related equipment, such as printer and copier; and thirdly, it can reduce the expenses of replacing toner cartridges and adding toner and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction and low-carbon and environmental protection.

The company carries out waste sorting, strictly distinguishes the recyclable waste and the non-recyclable waste, maximally realizes the utilization of waste resource, reduces the quantity of waste disposal, and improves the living environment quality.

The company staff of different departments respond positively to the national call of low carbon environmental protection, advocate low carbon life, start from own waste materials and integrate them with the concept of low-carbon and environmental protection and limitless originality to fabricate originally designed, durable and environmentally friendly fashionable dress, or recycle old clothes so as to enhance public awareness of environmental protection.
