As an important way to achieve zero-carbon architecture, “BIPV” has many other advantages, such as green environmental protection, space saving, building energy conservation, and investment savings.
Yingli is the earliest enterprise which carried out BIPV research and application in China. After more than 10 years of technological innovation, product iterations and demonstration applications, it has established the eighth-generation green architecture model. It has participated in the formulation of technical standards of BIPV industry, which laid a foundation for the technological progress, talent training, and service output of the industry.
Completed in October 2008, Power Valley International Hotel is located in Gaoxin District, Baoding, Hebei, and the core area of “China’s Power Valley”. With the installed capacity of 0.3 MW, the grid-connected installation area of 4,490㎡ and expected annual generating capacity of 300,000 kWh, the project can save 2,800 tons of standard coal, reduce 27,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and reduce 60 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions. It is the world's first BIPV building which applied a solar power generation system to a five-star hotel.
The facade of the PV curtain wall adopts a breathing structure design. In the process of flow, the airflow takes away the heat generated by the PV power generation system during the power generation process to naturally regulate the indoor-outdoor pressure difference. “A breathing hotel” comes from this. The entire hotel, including the heating and cooling of conference center, adopts sewage source heat pump technology, which exchanges energy via plate heat exchanger and extracts sewage temperature difference, and is used for heating, cooling and living water heating in buildings. The technology has realized the recycling of urban sewage and fully reflected the concept of “green, environmental protection and energy saving”.
Baoding Power Valley Plaza Business Conference Center was connected the grid and put into use in December 2009. With an installation capacity of 450kW, installation area of 4,800㎡ and annual average generating capacity of 367,500 KW, the project can save 48 tons of standard coal and can reduce 385 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year. The project has won five prizes of demonstration project, such as The First Building Integration Demonstration Project with Large Area and Multi-Angle Application of Solar PV Power Generation in China, and another representative landmark building in Baoding.
The new installation modes, such as half-cable point-supported PV curtain wall, hidden frame bent steel PV curtain wall and dry-hanged curtain wall, have laid a foundation for the product standards of China’s solar energy all-glass components and design standards of the application of solar energy all-glass components to curtain wall. The arc component developed by Yingli independently won 10 national patents, and 7 design patents of PV curtain wall.
Yingli Photovoltaic Pavilion was built and connected to the grid in August 2011, with an installed capacity of 40KW.
With hidden frame, Photovoltaic Pavilion has a fashionable and beautiful design. The original thermal insulation function of PV curtain wall and the sound insulation function of PVB material have built the natural "Yingli Culture Collection and Distribution Center", which was determined as “BIPV demonstration project by the General Office of the Ministry of Finance and the General Office of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Located in North Weiming Street, Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang, Hebei Provincial Political Consultative Organization Office Building has an installed capacity of 453KW and covers an area of 3,043.95㎡. Its launch has an important demonstration and leading role for the whole society, and it is a green card of Hebei with a distinctive personality.
Built in October 2011 and with an installed capacity of 350KW, Lekai Fire Station is the first BIPV photovoltaic fire station in China.
Both demonstration projects have adopted Low-e coated glass. Its high fireproof performance has resulted in fire-resistant photovoltaic. This has once again opened a new era of diversified applications of curtain wall components.
The all-glass photovoltaic component an acoustic zone successively built in 2012 has a total installed capacity 16.41KW.
PV noise barrier is a new application form of PV solar modules, which is vertically installed and has self-cleaning function and the double functions of sound insulation and decrease of noise and the supply of clean energy. It is rated as a beautiful “soundproof power station”. Yingli has gained 2 national patents in the design and application of noise barrier.
State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Materials and Technology was completed and put into use in 2013. It has an installed capacity of 1.3 MW and installation area of 19,400 ㎡. When its annual generating capacity reaches 72,000b KW, it will save 288 tons of standard coal and reduce 697 tons of CO2 emissions, 6.8 tons of SO2 emissions, and 6.0 tons of soot emissions.
The Key Laboratory is the first national key laboratory which passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology in China's photovoltaic industry. It has covered the entire industrial chain of solar PV power generation technology, and represents the highest level of PV research of China. In standard, the project can fully meet 50% of the building energy efficiency standards of Baoding. Recognized by both the state and industry professionals, it is a sign of transition to practicality and standardization of China's BIPV projects.
Located in the North Yangguang Street in Baoding, Hebei, the core area of China Power Valley, Power Valley Urban Low-carbon Park is Asia's largest photovoltaic greenhouse Park, which was built in August 2015 and put into use. With an installed capacity of 3 MW and expected annual generating capacity of 3.6 million kWh, the park can save 1,512.2 tons of standard coal, reduce 3,714 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, reduce 31.4 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, and reduce 13.8 tons of oxynitride emissions.
Using double power generation curtain wall component, the back can make full use of the reflected light and scattered light from indoor crops and water sources to generate electricity, increasing the quantity of electricity by 10%~30%.
Low-carbon Park is a "PV +” quality demonstration project. Urban Low-carbon Park has been built through standardized and modularization management into a project which can be duplicated and promoted, known as “Small Southland in North China”. The successful completion of the project is the new practice of Yingli Group leveraging the innovative integration of the industries of photovoltaic and agriculture, services, leisure, fitness and other industries by taking “Photovoltaic + ” as the pivot.
Located in North Chaoyang Street, Baoding, Hebei, Power Valley Fashion Plaza has a total installed capacity of 0.4 MW and annul generating capacity of 400,000 kWh, and can save 176 tons of standard coal and reduce 446 tons of carbon dioxide emissions one year.
With its power “mostly self-developed for own use and redundant power connected to the grid”, this project plays a role in social demonstration and guidance and boosts the concept of green and low-carbon development. It has won many honorary titles, such as "National AAA Safety Civilization Standardization Integrity Project", "Hebei Provincial Civilized Construction Demonstration Site" and "Hebei Green Construction Demonstration Project".
